Julia Roberts Makes Rare Appearance With Husband Danny Moder and Son Henry to Support George Clooney

Julia Roberts came out to New York City to support pal George Clooney in his new Broadway show, but she wasn’t alone. The Academy Award-winning actress was joined by her husband, Danny Moder, and their youngest son, Henry Moder, on Tuesday, April 1.

Julia, 57, appeared at the Winter Garden Theatre in the Big Apple looking beautiful as ever in a long black coat with black slacks and matching black heels, as seen in a video obtained by Daily Mail. She wore a pair of eyeglasses and wore her hair in her signature curls. She smiled as she waved to fans who gathered outside of the theater.

Danny, 56, wore a black pullover sweater with brown pants and brown Chelsea boots, per photos obtained by the outlet. The cinematographer carried his coat in one arm. Joining them was Henry, 17, who wore a pair of loose-fitting jeans, a red leather jacket, a white button-down shirt and white sneakers.

Julia has been friends with George, 63, for decades, so it’s no surprise that she showed up to support her longtime friend as he portrays Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck. They previously gushed about their friendship when they worked together on the 2022 film Ticket to Paradise.

“This was just easy,” George said during an October 2022 interview with People of kickstarting his friendship with Julia while filming 2000’s Ocean’s Eleven.

“That’s how it felt with George,” Julia agreed. “You just kind of go, ‘All right’ … He’s one of my people now.”

And the Hollywood stars have been able to maintain a strong friendship both on and off screen that will last for years to come.

“Listen, the thing about Julia, one of the many great qualities, is she is consistent in her loyalty and in her friendship and in her kindness,” George remarked. “So if you’d ask me what’s different, I’d say that with the exception of us getting a little bit older, nothing in terms of who we are, or who you are.”

The Wolfs actor was also spotted signing autographs and greeting fans outside of the theater after Julia and her family made their way outside.

George temporarily moved to NYC with his wife, Amal Clooney, and their kids, Alexander and Ella, 7, for his big role. The leading man even dyed his hair brown for his Broadway debut, ditching his salt and pepper locks for a new look, which he said his kids would certainly laugh at him for.

In addition to Henry, Julia and Danny share 20-year-old twins, Phinneas and Hazel Moder. The Pretty Woman actress also revealed that she is “Aunt Juju” to George’s two kids.

Julia previously talked about her family during an October 2022 appearance on Today.

“Sometimes I get gripped with fear of blowing it,” she told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager about motherhood. “And sometimes I’ve just said to my kids, ‘So today, me as a mom? Can we just take that off the board because I blew it.’ ”

“I met [Danny] when I was ready … And then we call these children into our lives when we’re ready to best partner with them,” she reflected.
