Celebration time! Julie Andrews looked happier than ever while attending the Venice Film Festival in Lido, Italy, on Tuesday, September 3. The beloved Princess Diaries actress was celebrating that fact that she was honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award at the famous film festival.

The 83-year-old beauty — who has won five Golden Globes, four Grammys, two Emmys and one BAFTA throughout her decades-long career — gushed about receiving the award during her acceptance speech. “I am so honored to have been selected as this year’s recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement for this acknowledgment of my work,” she said at the event.

The British icon was beaming with joy as she stepped out for the film festival on Tuesday afternoon.

The Home: A Memoir of My Early Years author looked as gorgeous as ever as she hit the red carpet ahead of the festival. Julie donned a light blue, silky pantsuit that she paired with a white top. She also wore a matching set of white espadrilles and accessorized with some light jewelry.

The “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” singer couldn’t keep her hands — and lips — off her Golden Lion award! The dame, best known for her roles in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music, planted a kiss on the statue’s head as she posed for pics after being honored.

After being presented with the award, Julie’s 1982 hit Victor/Victoria was screened at the Venice Film Festival. The movie stars her as a down-and-out British soprano who pretends to be a female impersonator. It was also directed by Julie’s late husband, Blake Edwards.

There’s no doubt that Julie’s Golden Lion award is much deserved — but she still considers herself “lucky” and “blessed” to have gotten to this point in her career.

“I consider myself so blessed to have spent a large part of my professional life in the cinema arts,” Julie said while accepting the award. “I still marvel at the fact that I was the lucky girl who was asked to play those wonderful roles.”
