Modern Family’s Julie Bowen Reveals 1 of Her Sons Ended Up in the Emergency Room on Thanksgiving
Julie Bowen revealed that her Thanksgiving ended with a scary trip to the emergency room with one of her sons.
“It’s not a holiday without a trip to the ER. (He’s fine, btw) HAPPY THANKSGIVING,” the Modern Family actress wrote on Instagram on Thursday, November 28. In the photo, one of her kids stood in front of the hospital entrance, however, his face was not clearly visible.
Julie, 54, is a mom to kids Oliver, John and Gus, whom she shares with ex-husband Scott Phillips.
“I legit thought this was a promo for Hysteria not until I read the caption haha. If you’ve been following Julie for awhile, you know this ER run is a possibility on holidays but glad he’s okay though,” one person commented on the post. “Always stay safe and hope you had a great thanksgiving!”
Another said, “hate to say this, but I feel like this so ‘on brand’ as a boy-mom. Glad he’s ok and we can joke about it.”
Fans of the star might remember that last year on 4th of July, the mom of three posted on Instagram that one of her kids visited the emergency room.
“It’s not a vacation without a trip to the ER for a broken wrist… Both bones broken, but John is on the mend and his brothers were total champs,” she wrote alongside a photo of his X-ray, as well as a photo of John in a hospital bed with his brothers alongside him.
After Julie shared her post on Thanksgiving this year, her Modern Family costar Jesse Tyler Ferguson also revealed that one of his kids ended up in the emergency room on the holiday.
“I have received a lot of parenting wisdom from @itsjuliebowen so seeing I wasn’t the only one with a kid in the ER on Thanksgiving was comforting. (He’s also fine.)” Jesse, 49, captioned a post on his Instagram page on Friday, November 29. “Thank you to the kind folks at Lennox Health. NYC really DOES have the best healthcare.”

“Oh no!!!!” Modern Family costar Sofía Vergara wrote underneath the post with several red heart emojis.
In the picture, Jesse held his son in his arms as they sat together in a hospital bed. The Take Me Out actor shares kids Beckett and Sullivan with husband Justin Mikita.
Jesse revealed the news of his son’s hospital visit just days after sharing the news that his mom, Anne Ferguson, had passed away.
“This photo of me taking my first steps away from my mom’s opened arms is one of my favorite pictures. In recent days I helped my mom take some of her last steps,” he shared in an Instagram caption on Thursday. “We said goodbye to her on Tuesday November 25. Today I give thanks that I was able to be with her in her final moments on this earth. You only get one mom and I’m glad she was mine. My arms will always be open for you. RIP Mom.”
