Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth to Have First Joint Outing in 7 Years

Time to catch up! Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth haven’t had many trips together, but that will soon change as they will both be visiting Kings College London later this month.

According to The Sun, the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, and the Queen, 92, are set to reopen the newly renovated Grade II listed Bush House — formerly the home of BBC World Service and now being leased by the college of which the Queen is patron. This will be the pair’s first solo outing together since March 2012. Seven years ago, the two bonded while on Prince Philip wife’s Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.

This trip, which will occur on March 19, comes just seven months after Meghan Markle had her first solo outing with the Queen, as the duo headed to Cheshire just one month after the former actress, 37, said I do to Prince Harry. But perhaps this engagement between Kate and the Queen will be casual, especially since we learned that the latter has quite the personality.

“I have met the queen on many occasions and she is, again, she is different depending on the circumstances,” Ingrid Seward, the Editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, said recently on the Yahoo online series, Royal Box. She added, “When I met her at a semi-private party, and everyone had a nickname — she spoke in riddles and this is what it feels like to be one of her friends.”

As for Kate, the mother-of-three has been out-and-about in public quite a bit lately as she was recently spotted in Blackpool with Prince William. While there, the royal couple attended a roundtable briefing to learn about the town’s recent history, the challenges they’ve faced as well as the investment and efforts that are underway to modernize the area. Afterwards, the pair headed out to meet fans on the promenade’s Comedy Carpet.
