Kate Middleton Wows in a White Alexander McQueen Dress at Prince Louis’ Royal Christening

Gorgeous! Kate Middleton wowed in white at her third child Prince Louis’ royal christening on Monday, July 9 — and we can’t get over how stunning she looks in the newly released pics of the special event.

Kate, 36, was photographed arriving at the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in London earlier today alongside her husband, Prince William, also 36, and their two older kids, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3. The Cambridge family was also joined by Prince Harry and his new wife, Meghan Markle, at the baptism.

According to multiple outlets, Kate’s white gown was designed by Alexander McQueen. She accessorized the look with a pair of nude pumps and a beautiful white headband adorned with flowers and birdcage netting created by London milliner Jane Taylor.

Kate’s ensemble for Louis’ christening, of course, looked similar to the two frocks she previously donned at George and Charlotte’s royal baptisms, which took place in October 2013 and July 2015, respectively. For George’s event, the Duchess of Cambridge donned a cream-colored Alexander McQueen dress with a matching fascinator. And for Charlotte’s church blessing, she wore a stark white Alexander McQueen fit-and-flare dress with a coordinating hat.

Following royal tradition, baby Louis was dressed in the same christening gown his older siblings, George and Charlotte, wore at their baptisms. The family heirloom is an exact replica of the christening gown Queen Victoria‘s daughter Princess Victoria wore to her blessing back in 1841. The outfit was famously worn by 62 royal babies — including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William! — before it was deemed too old and delicate and a replica was created in 2008.

“It was recreated in exactly the same way. Even though there was modern machinery, they had to go back to doing a lot of it by hand so there was a mix between by hand and machinery. It was made from scratch, from sketching it out, to embroidering the lace on a special silk-based tulle,” a royal insider previously told People of the gown, which was designed by the Queen’s assistant, Angela Kelly, and created by Buckingham Palace’s team of dressmakers.
