Meghan Reportedly Knows Her Royal Position Is “Different” From Future Queen Kate’s Role

Though Meghan Markle and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton seem to be getting along great, the former Suits star reportedly understands that her royal position is much “different” than future Queen Consort Kate’s role within the British monarchy.

“She is aware that Kate will be Queen one day and her position is different,” veteran royal photographer Mark Stewart recently told People, adding that Meghan lets Kate “take the lead” during joint royal outings.

Even before Meghan 36, married Prince Harry in mid-May, Kate, also 36, has allegedly been kindly giving Meg expert “advice about adapting to the royal family.” Kate herself went through rigorous training before she married Prince William back in 2011, so she’s reportedly been happy to help Meghan adjust to her new royal life.

“[Kate told Meghan] that if she ever needed anything, she shouldn’t hesitate to get in touch. Keep in mind, the aides advising Meghan now are of the same position at the palace as the ones who advised Kate when she first got engaged to William,” a royals insider previously told Us Weekly.

William has also reportedly been on-hand to offer his advice and guidance to Harry’s new wife. “Harry made sure that his brother and sister-in-law are both available to Meghan. You can’t trust anyone more than family,” the source shared. Thankfully, Meghan is already very close to William and Kate. “Meghan gets along great with everyone. They’re so pleased to see Harry in a good place and planning his future,” an insider close to the couple confessed.

During her very first official royal engagement with Harry, Kate, and William in February, Meghan candidly opened up about her strong relationship with her royal relatives. While the group sat side-by-side on-stage, Harry joked about the occasional difficulties of working closely with his family members. “We have different opinions and they work really well [together]. Working as family does have its challenges; of course, it does,” he began. “[I think] the fact that everybody is laughing shows they know exactly what’s it like. But we are stuck together for the rest of our lives.” Meghan then chimed in to adorably say, “Togetherness at its finest!”
