Princess Kate Middleton received a standing ovation as she took her seat during a rare public appearance at Wimbledon amid her ongoing cancer treatment. Kate attended the men’s final match on Sunday, July 14.

The royal, 42, and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, 9, met with people before the event and then sat together in the Royal Box. Kate looked happy and healthy as she waved to the applauding crowd.

Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March and revealed that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Wimbledon was just her second public appearance this year.

In May, Kate revealed that she still had a “few more months” of treatment left. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she shared.

Kate fulfilled her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club during her Wimbledon appearance. She was given the position by Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.
