In honor of April Fools’ Day, Katie Couric made sure she had a good surprise planned for James Corden ahead of her appearance on The Late Late Show on Monday, April 1. The Yahoo global news anchor showed off her next-level skills as she staged an elaborate prank that gave the late-night host a huge scare.
The 62-year-old’s genius April Fools’ joke began when a convincing stunt double — dressed exactly like Katie — pretended to take a nasty tumble down the stairs after being called by James, 40, to come to the stage. “This was without a doubt, my best #aprilfools prank EVER! Sorry @j_corden for giving you a heart attack,” the former Today host wrote in an Instagram post she shared.
