You can typically catch her wearing comfy athleisure or an oversized chunky sweater and jeans, but Katie Holmes opted for a much edgier look while stepping out for the recent Zimmermann Dinner and Store Party at New York Fashion Week.

The gorgeous Batman Begins actress looked super sexy as she hit the streets in an all-black ensemble for the event on Tuesday, September 4. Katie, 40, drew attention to her stunning makeup as she pulled her brunette locks behind her ears and sported a slicked-back ponytail. She is so stylish!

Katie showed off her slim figure in a super fashionable, black dress that featured an asymmetrical cut and lace detail. The brunette beauty showed off some cleavage while also covering her shoulders with a matching blazer.

She accessorized the daring look with a pair of pointed, black leather boots and a black purse. Incredible!

Katie looked ready to take on the night as she stepped out for her first public event since news of her split with Jamie Foxx first made headlines. Closer Weekly confirmed on August 19 that the former couple ended their six-year relationship and a source told In Touch Weekly they “have been arguing nonstop over [Jamie’s] partying” for the past few months.

The insider also revealed that the Ray actor had “been promising to calm his wild ways,” but had yet to prove it to Katie. “She’s finally come to the conclusion that she wants to be with a guy who’s more mature and ready to settle down,” the source explained about why Katie broke up with him.

Although heartbreak is never easy, Katie has had the support of her sweet daughter, Suri Cruise. In fact, since calling it quits, the beloved actress has not only been spending a lot of quality time with the 13-year-old girl, but she has also filled Suri in regarding the split.

“Katie’s doing just fine. Suri has asked about Jamie and her mom told her the truth, that she and Jamie have broken up,” an insider revealed to Closer Weekly. “Suri’s a lot more mature than people think.”

Even though “Suri loves Jamie,” the source dished that the sweet youngster — who is also the daughter of Katie’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise — is fully in support of her mom’s decisions. “She trusts [Katie], she didn’t really question it too much,” the insider explained.
