Kelly Ripa Jokes Going Out With Husband Mark Consuelos Is ‘Like A First Date In Your Sophomore Year Of High School’
A-list couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are no longer in high school, but when it comes to dating, Kelly just admitted that it still feels like they’re teenagers every time they go out together. But why, exactly? Because, apparently, Mark never knows how to embrace Kelly once her glam night out hair and makeup is done.
“Like, every date he’s like, ‘Is this OK? Is this OK? Is this OK? Can I touch you here? Can I touch you there?'” Kelly, 48, explained on her new Facebook Watch series, Heads and Faces. “It’s like a first date in your sophomore year of high school. Every date!”
In Riverdale, Mark plays a fictional dad to former high school mean girl Veronica Lodge, but in real life, Kelly said she wants him to differentiate between what’s real or enhanced when it comes to her beauty routine. “He’s never sure what’s glued in, what’s clipped in, what’s actually a part of my body, and what’s maybe just temporarily a part of my body,” Kelly joked.
She added that when she gets intimate with Mark, 47, all of her makeup and hair extensions end up scattered all over the floor. “When he undresses me, he’s the one that coined the phrase ‘I’m a human pinata.’ Because at the end of the night — and I don’t want to brag, but after a night with me — it’s like party favors all over the floor,” she joked. “There’s false eyelashes, there’s hair extensions, there’s chicken cutlets, those are on the floor. You name it. Anything that I try to look like a female in person.”
Though Kelly might want Mark to know when she’s wearing false hair or eyelashes, there’s no doubt in her mind that Mark was still made for her. In a previous interview on the Radio Andy podcast, Kelly said that she knew she wanted to marry Mark since the moment she first saw him in a photograph. “I saw my entire future with him,” she said. And now, they’ve been happily married since 1996!
