Kelly Ripa Hilariously Reveals Daughter Lola Secretly Altered Her Senior Prom Dress: ‘The Girls Are Fully on Display’
There’s no doubt Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelous‘ daughter, Lola Consuelos, looked absolutely stunning at her senior prom — and it might be because she styled herself! The Live! With Kelly & Ryan host recently revealed that her 18-year-old daughter secretly made some last-minute alterations without asking her mom or dad.
“That’s prom,” the 48-year-old beauty said to host Jerry O’Connell as a photo of her and Lola appeared on the screen during the recent premiere of the Jerry O’ Show. “That’s the prom dress that we had made and she had altered behind our back.”
For her prom in early June, Lola worked with NYC-based tailor Raza Wijdan to create a jaw-dropping custom gown. The emerald ensemble boasted a deep V-neck and a thigh high slit. Kelly revealed her little girl’s secret alterations after joking about the risqué look.
“So that’s why the girls are fully on display,” the All My Children alum snarkily quipped of Lola’s gown, that was also styled by her mother’s stylist, Audrey Slater. “Everybody came down the stairs together. And I just mean Lola.” LOL!
As the loving mom she is, Kelly — who also shares sons Michael Consuelos, 22, and Joaquin Consuelos, 16, with the Riverdale actor — gushed about her teenage daughter. “She’s a smart girl. She’s a nice girl,” Kelly said to the host.
This definitely isn’t the first time we’ve heard Kelly jokingly tease one of her kids. In fact, a source close to the famous family opened up about their super close bond and how over the moon she and Mark, 48, truly are of their three kiddos.
“[They] are extremely proud of how their children turned out,” an insider told Hollywood Life in late March. “Kelly always dreamed of having a daughter and loves how close she and Lola are. Kelly is a very hands-on mom and can be strict at times, especially with Lola because of how beautiful she is, but she trusts her kids implicitly.”
