Kelly Ripa Candidly Shares Her ‘Biggest Regret’ That Ultimately Left Her ‘Traumatized’
Kelly Ripa has been on TV for decades on Live, but she admitted there’s some things she regrets about filming her hit talk show.
The Emmy winner, 54, opened up to People on April 2 about the array of interesting haircuts she has had while working on Live through the years.
“[I regret] all of them. Every single haircut,” she told the outlet, adding, “All of my haircuts traumatized me.”
“It’s interesting, when you’re on a show, you don’t watch it, so you don’t know. You almost have amnesia,” she said about the show. “You do the show and you move on to the next day … so I have almost no recollection.”
Her haircuts are a topic Kelly has addressed before on the show, just as she did during a January 2024 episode. She said that she has often gotten haircuts and then regretted them due to the upkeep.
“Yes, I want to get a haircut until I get the haircut,” Kelly said during the episode at the time. “Because once I get the haircut, then I have to maintain the haircut. And when your hair is this length, this is a good ponytail length. So, like, when I come to work, my hair is done for me and it looks nice.”
The TV personality said that she once got a haircut that made her look like Carol Brady instead of the Michelle Pfeiffer look she was going for.
“It ended up looking like Carol Brady, and I just didn’t understand how it happened,” Mark Consuelos told Kelly of the haircut. “I was like, ‘Wait, what happened, I saw Michelle Pfeiffer five minutes ago! Now it’s Carol Brady!’ So now when you ask me, I say, ‘Babe, do what you want to do. Just do what you want to do.’”

“No, that’s not what you say. What he says is, ‘Do what you want to do, but just know that you’re going to be miserable as soon as you cut your hair off.’ That’s what you say. So that discourages me,” Kelly quipped.
Kelly and Mark’s hilarious and witty banter has won fans of the show over, many of whom are excited to see the couple take on the show’s new era in a new studio. The show aired it’s last episode filmed in the old studio on April 1 before officially moving into a new building.
It was quite emotional for both Kelly and Mark to bid farewell to the show’s old studio.
“Some of our closest friends are people that work here,” Mark told People in an interview published on April 1. “We’re a family at Live, and growing up, those were some of the people our kids were closest to.”
Kelly, who shares kids Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22, with Mark, agreed.
“Yeah, my kids have full text chains with some of the people here,” the mom of three said. “Like, Lola doesn’t look at some of our producers as producers; she looks at them as other moms. These are moms she and my sons can go to if I’m on set if there’s an emergency. So there’s a lot of that.”
