Kelly Ripa’s Son Adorably Has a Crush on Ryan Seacrest’s Girlfriend
He’s probably super embarrassed that his mom just revealed his celebrity crush on national television! On Monday, March 12’s episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, Kelly Ripa revealed that her 15-year-old son Joaquin Consuelos has a thing for Ryan Seacrest‘s 25-year-old girlfriend, Shayna Taylor.
When Ryan and Shayna recently came over to Kelly and her husband Mark Consuelos‘ home to watch the premiere of the American Idol reboot, Joaquin felt he needed to do something special in order to impress the model. “Joaquin shaved for the first time,” the mom-of-three told the audience. “And then we realized it was because Shayna was there with Ryan… In Joaquin’s brain, he thinks somehow he can get in there — in his fantasy brain.” How cute!

Ryan, completely understanding the high schooler’s motives, couldn’t blame him. “He’s a smart one. He’s a clever one,” the 43-year-old said in response to Kelly. The television personality and the blonde beauty first started dating a few years ago before calling it quits. They’ve since rekindled their romance and have been going steady ever since — and Shayna’s sticking by Ryan’s side through his sexual misconduct allegations.
It seems that Kelly and Ryan’s friendship is still intact as well since they’re still hanging out with each other outside of work. A previous report revealed that the two co-hosts’ relationship was recently struggling behind the scenes. “He’s one of her closest friends, and they’re very protective of each other. They’ve known each other for years and talk about everything. It’s been a tough week,” a source told Page Six. But if they’re watching American Idol together, clearly their friendship is withstanding the recent allegations.
