Kelly Rizzo Reveals What She Misses Most About Late Husband Bob Saget: ‘The Most Incredible Support’
From his comedic timing to his lovable personality, Bob Saget is simply hard to forget. Kelly Rizzo, who was married to the Full House actor from 2018 up until his death in 2022, misses “his sense of humor,” she exclusively told Closer while attending Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine Benefiting the Scleroderma Research Foundation on Tuesday, October 29.
“He was one of the most wickedly funny humans that has ever walked this earth,” she said. “But personally, being married to him, he was just such a constant, big, warm hug. And, you know, I’ll forever miss that. But it’s etched in my memory so deeply that I feel like it’s always with me.”
Kelly, 45, went on to say that the comedian was the “most incredible support and the most incredible caretaker.” And on top of his Hollywood career, Bob, was a proud father to his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer, whom he welcomed with ex-wife Sherri Kramer.
Most of all, the podcast host admired Bob’s selflessness and kindness.
“Bob as a whole was just a person who he felt so deeply,” she said. “Everything about him was just he was all emotion, a lot of raw emotion, and he was so sensitive and just felt so deeply. And that’s why this cause, Scleroderma Research Foundation, was so important to him because he lost his sister to this disease in the ’90s, and it was a very personal thing for him.”
“And then he got so involved with so many patients over the years and helping them. Like, if somebody called him and said, ‘You know, my cousin or my aunt or my sister has scleroderma,’ he personally would hook them up with a doctor,” Kelly revealed. “He personally would make sure that they got the treatment that they deserved and that they needed because his sister didn’t have that when she died of this disease. So, he just felt so deeply and just all he did was want to help. And that’s just how he was in his professional life, in his life with this organization, then in his personal life.”
Kelly, who is currently in a relationship with Breckin Meyer, admitted that dating was “hard to navigate” after Bob’s death.

“I was trying to be always sensitive and considerate of my relationship with Bob, of course, forever,” she said. “But then at the same time, when I got the blessing of his daughters, of his family, of his friends, I knew that it was okay. Even though in my heart, I’m like, ‘OK, I feel it’s time. It was really important to me to get that blessing from everybody.’”
Breckin, 50, attended the event with Kelly, walking the red carpet with her.
“Breckin has just been such a blessing also because he’s just so wonderful and supportive and, you know, he’s here with me tonight,” she said. “Which, you know, it’s, it’s a big thing, you know, to come to an event like this where it’s honoring my late husband, you know? So, he’s just been so wonderful. So, I would say I’ve been very, very fortunate because I know not everybody who loses his spouse has such an easy time.”
And Kelly is sure that Bob would give his stamp of approval on her relationship with Breckin.
“We joke all the time that Breckin is, like, the one person on earth that he would actually be OK with,” she shared.
