‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ Debuts 1st Episode in New Studio: ‘It Sounds Like a Stadium’
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos debuted their new studio on Live With Kelly and Mark, and it’s simply stunning! The couple filmed their first broadcast in the show’s newly completed space on Monday, April 14.
“Welcome to our brand new studio!” Kelly, 54, said while welcoming viewers to the show. “Wowee! … What do ya think?”
“It sounds good!” Mark, also 54, said. “It sounds like a stadium!”
They then explained one of the mementos they took from the old studio and brought with them to the new place, a glass dog statue.
“That’s the one thing we took from our old studio. Our beloved studio dog,” Kelly said.
“I’m glad we brought him with us,” Mark chimed in. “Or her, I’m not sure. It’s hard to say.”
Last week, the couple filmed their show from a temporary studio in their new building while they waited for the new studio to be completed.
Kelly and Mark praised Live‘s production designer, Mike Fagan, for his work on the new place.
“We should point out that Mike Fagan is still with us, he did not quit. He did an incredible job. He is extraordinary,” Kelly said.
“You’ve outdone yourself, Mike,” Mark added. “This is absolutely stunning.”
Kelly admitted that she did not think Live would be moving into the studio on time.
“I got to tell you, I lost a lot of money to Mark Consuelos because I did not think we would be here today,” the Emmy winner told Mark. “I owe you a lot of money for sure.”

Several posts on the show’s Instagram page documented the staff’s excitement for the new studio as well as the audience’s reaction to seeing Kelly and Mark taking the new stage for the first time.
“First time in the studio, can’t wait,” executive producer Michael Gelman excitedly said in one of the clips. “Getting a little nervous here.”
Viewers at home were loving seeing the new studio after many months of waiting for the reveal.
“Love love the studio!!!!!!” one person commented on the show’s Instagram account, while another said, “The new studio looks great!!!
The new studio is located at the Walt Disney Company’s new NYC headquarters at 7 Hudson Square.
“With three large studios, the building will continue to welcome hundreds of New Yorkers and visitors from across the country and around the globe each weekday to participate in live and recorded tapings of our shows,” according to the official website.
“Noteworthy building amenities include a full-service café and coffee bar, outdoor terraces, wellness rooms, a large event space for employee gatherings, conference centers, a large screening room, a reading room, a bike room with shower facilities, a company store, TV studios, and much more,” the website continued.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams was the first Live guest to be welcomed into the show’s new studio by Kelly and Mark. She came out onto the stage with a bouquet of flowers to help usher the talk show into its new era, with many looking forward to seeing more celebrity guests in the studio on episodes to come.
