Maksim Chmerkovskiy “Can’t Wait” to Have More Kids With Wife Peta Murgatroyd
He can’t wait to expand his brood! Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently gushed about wanting more kids with his wife and fellow Dancing With the Stars pro, Peta Murgatroyd, and his excitement is too adorable. “I can’t wait for more,” he revealed to Us Weekly.
While Maks just wants all the babies, Peta, on the other hand, has a more structured plan for expanding their family. “He would have a baby every year if he could! That means I would be constantly fat. I think three is a good number,” she added. “Maybe in a year it would be nice. They would still be close in age.”
For the next baby, Peta even has a tiny preference — she’d love to have a baby girl the second time around, and for the sweetest reason. “I just love [our son] Shai so much, I don’t know how I would share that with another boy,” she admitted.
In the meantime, the proud parents of one-year-old Shai are doing their best to raise him well. “I think he’s gonna be a very good, respectful boy,” Maks gushed. “That is one thing I won’t ever tolerate — rudeness. He has to be good to women,” Peta added.
While the two semi-newlyweds (they married back in July) fully plan on having more children eventually, for now, they’re just embracing getting to watch their son Shai grow up. “I love seeing him grow, and all the changes,” the 31-year-old mom said. “Honestly, it sounds corny, but it’s the amount of love that they give you when you come home or when you wake up in the morning to this huge grin and cuddles.” So sweet!
The couple had previously discussed expanding their family with In Touch. “Maybe next year [we’ll have another],” Peta revealed in September 2017. But with the two going on tour with Maks’ brother Valentin Chmerkovskiy starting in March — and wrapping up in May — it’s probably safe to say they’ll hold off on having more kids until the tour’s over.
