Proud mom! Mariah Carey experienced what endless love truly feels like when she became the mother of her two kids, Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon. The twins were born in April 2011, and the Grammy winner said it’s “actually really beautiful” watching them grow into preteens.

“They’re good, nice kids,” she told People in October 2023. “They’re kind-hearted people, and I really enjoy being around them and watching them grow up into the people that they’re ultimately going to become.”

The queen of Christmas added that she has formed fond memories with her twins over the years during their holidays in Aspen. “We have our traditions, like rolling in the snow, jumping in the hot tubs — stuff that most people don’t do, but it’s just that we’re all kind of daredevils,” Mariah gushed.

On April 30, 2011, Mariah gave birth to her twins, including daughter Monroe. At the time, the star’s representative, Cindi Berger, told Reuters she welcomed her babies shortly after 9 a.m. in Los Angeles. According to the rep, Monroe weighed a little over 5 pounds and was 18 inches long.

Despite being a little girl, Monroe began sprucing up her entertaining skills as she appeared in a few of her mom’s videos and TV specials. She’s even joined Mariah on stage during concerts, including the time she sang along to the singer’s hit “Always Be My Baby” during a Las Vegas show in 2018.

Most impressively, Monroe made her modeling debut in the campaign of the children’s fashion brand OshKosh B’gosh in July 2021. “The melodies that live in my head, someday they’ll live at the top of the charts,” Monroe said in the back-to-school commercial, in which she wore a black T-shirt and overalls. Mariah’s girl is so grown up!

Monroe and her twin brother, Moroccan, will be joining their mom on stage at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards on November 19, 2023, where they will help Mariah perform her classic holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” for the first time on an awards show telecast.

Moroccan made his arrival alongside his sister on April 30, 2011. Though he weighed around 5 pounds like Monroe, Mariah’s rep announced he was 19 inches long. As the years have passed, he’s grown up so much and has embraced his mom’s spotlight.

In addition to Moroccan walking red carpet events and appearing in Mariah’s videos, it’s not uncommon for the singer to share the cutest photos of her son on social media. In December 2020, she uploaded a snap of the two wearing pajamas, writing, “Matching with my Rockstar.” She also previously shared a heartwarming snapshot of the mother-son duo “admiring the snow.”

More often than not, the “We Belong Together” artist will post pics of both her kids. “All things are possible … Happy Mother’s Day,” she captioned the sweetest image of Roc and Roe kissing her on the cheek in May 2021.

Mariah revealed she started calling her son “Rocky” during an October 2023 interview with People. While describing their holiday traditions, she explained, ”We also sit and play games, like Heads Up! or Taboo. For the past four years, I’ve been trying to make my traditional Christmas meals, like my dad’s recipe for linguini and clam sauce. I like to make sure Monroe and Rocky come in and cook with me.”
