RIPMary Tyler Moore Laid to Rest in Private Burial
Mary Tyler Moore has been laid to rest.
Less than one week after her death, The Mary Tyler Moore Show star was honored with a small, quiet burial on Sunday, Jan. 29 in her hometown of Fairfield, CT, local paper the Connecticut Post reported.

Her funeral was attended by about 50 guests, including close friends and family. Despite previous reports that big stars — like her longtime friend Betty White — were planning to attend the service, the only recognizable celebrity present was Bernadette Peters, who was Mary’s co-star in the 1990 TV movie The Last Best Year.
After a brief service that started at 11 a.m., the cemetery was open to the public so that fans could pay their respects. Fairfield Police Lt. James Perez witnessed the proceedings and commented on Mary’s lovely burial site.

“It’s nice what the family did,” Perez told the CT Post. “It was a nice little send-off for her.”
