Aside from being one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors, Matt Damon also takes pride in being a great dad. Over the years, the Jason Bourne star has made us fall in love with his handsome looks and incredible charm, but nowadays, Matt melts our hearts thanks to his sweet bond with his kids.

The Martian actor is the father of his four daughters, Alexia, Isabella, Gia and Stella, with his longtime wife, Luciana Barroso. Matt experienced fatherhood for the first time when he married the Argentina native in 2005, as he adopted her eldest daughter, Alexia, whom she shares with ex-husband Arbello Barroso. The couple then welcomed their own children together, Isabella, Gia and Stella.

Before becoming a biological father, Matt actually first became a stepdad! At the time that he met his wife, Luciana was a single mom of one. She was previously married to ex-husband Arbello, with whom she welcomed daughter Alexia in 1999. However, the couple divorced a few years into their marriage and Luciana and her little girl moved to Miami from Argentina when she was around 4 years old.

Luckily, the brunette beauty met her future husband and her first daughter’s stepdad not too long after touching down in the United States. The couple married and shortly after Matt adopted Alexia, according to reports.

Nowadays, Alexia remains in the public eye despite her dad’s attempt at trying to maintain a private life. Although there is not much information about Alexia, we do know that she loves soccer and studies education at a private school in New York City. Matt lamented in an August 2021 interview with Radio Times, “Our almost-20-year-old will soon be out of the nest.”

It looked like Alexia might try to follow in her famous father’s footsteps considering she appeared alongside her papa in the 2011 movie We Bought a Zoo. Alexia played a minor role as a member of the zoo staff, but to date it is her only film credit. She has accompanied her dad to his movie premieres, as the pair posed on the red carpet of Stillwater in July 2021. She supported Matt along with the rest of the family at the Oppenheimer premiere in Paris in July 2023.

The following year, Matt’s entire family stepped out on the red carpet with him at The Instigators premiere in New York City.

“I know, it happens so fast,” he said of watching his kids grow up during an August 2024 radio interview. “It happens kind of slowly and then really fast in a beautiful way.”

Not long after Matt and Luciana tied the knot in December 2005, the couple revealed the exciting news that they were expecting their first child together. In June 2006, Matt and his spouse welcomed daughter Isabella.

Considering Matt is one of the most well-known actors in Hollywood, there isn’t much that their family can’t do. However, the Bourne Identity star once revealed how he avoids raising spoiled children.

“They don’t need anything. So we send everything on to people who need it,” he told Today when asked about free gifts that are sent to him based on his celebrity status. “When people send stuff to my kids, my kids have everything they need so we pass it right on. This is the life we’re giving them. It’s hard to figure out how to try to give them perspective. It’s a source of tension in the family at times.”

Matt is doing everything he can to raise his girls to be humble, but it seems Isabella is also teaching him about being grounded. Speaking on CBS This Morning in July 2021, the Golden Globe winner revealed Isabella enjoys teasing him about his movie roles.

“[Isabella] refuses to see [Good Will Hunting]. She doesn’t want to see any movies that I’m in that she thinks might be good. She just likes to give me s—t,” the actor dished, sharing a hilarious example. “My daughter said, ‘Remember that movie you did, The Wall?’ I said, ‘It was called The Great Wall.’ She goes, ‘Dad, there’s nothing great about that movie.’ She keeps my feet firmly on the ground.”

Matt and Luciana became the proud parents of three after the arrival of their daughter Gia in August 2008. Although the heartthrob tries to be low-key, we love seeing him out and about with his little girl — which is surprisingly quite often!

In fact, the father-daughter duo was spotted at Disneyland in California while celebrating Gia’s 11th birthday in 2019. Matt stepped out with his daughter and some of her friends for a day out at the theme park in honor of the special celebration.

While they were there, Matt and his clan were seen enjoying many of the park’s thrill rides including the Incredicoaster, Goofy’s Sky School, Radiator Springs Racers and the Grizzly River Run. Everyone looked to have had an amazing time.

The youngest of Matt’s children is his adorable daughter Stella. The sweet kiddo was welcomed into their brood after making her arrival into the world in 2010. Five years later, the handsome Golden Globe Award-winning actor opened up about becoming a father of four.
