Matt Damon Hasn’t Been Able to Convince His Daughters to Watch ‘Good Will Hunting’: ‘It’s Total Resistance’

It may arguably be one of his best films, but Matt Damon recently admitted that his kids have no interest at all in seeing Good Will Hunting.

“It’s total resistance,” the 49-year-old told People of trying to get his four daughters — Alexia, 20, Isabella, 13,  Gia. 11, and Stella, 9 — to watch his Oscar-winning movie about a young gifted janitor working at MIT. The film also starred Ben Affleck and Robin Williams.

“I am kind of trying to force them, it’s not working. I’m like, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to see ‘Good Will Hunting’? You know your dad and Uncle Ben wrote it, right?’” Matt continued. “‘Yeah, dad, I know.’ It’s like, ‘Nope.’” Ouch!

The Jason Bourne actor — who shares his little ones with his longtime wife, Luciana — still hopes that “one of these days” his kids will sit down to watch the popular film. “You know what they did see is ‘The Martian,’ which was odd,” he explained. “I never was going to show it to them because I felt like it was kind of a movie for [adults]. But their classmates had seen it and so other parents at the school were saying, ‘Oh my daughter loved it.’”

“I put it on for the kids at home,” Matt told the outlet. “It had come out on iTunes so I downloaded it and put it on. I narrated the first 20 minutes because my youngest daughter was still pretty young and [in the beginning] I have that hole in my stomach from the antennae. She was probably six, or seven at the time. Like, ‘Oh look at that fake stomach. You know how dad did that?’ I hit ‘Pause’ and kind of walked them through that and then they watched it.”

“That was the one until [his latest film ‘Ford v Ferrari’], because they came to the premiere,” the A-lister revealed. “So, that was cool. So, they’ve seen two of them.”

They may not be rushing to see one of his most classic films, but it’s clear that Matt is all about his daughters. In fact, back in August 2019, he got some fresh ink in their honor. Matt tattooed all of his children’s names on his right arm in a beautiful, delicate script, alongside his other tat: his wife’s name. What a guy!
