Matt Lauer Reportedly Still Maintains His Friendship With ‘Today’ Producer Deborah Kosofsky

It looks like Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie aren’t the only people who maintain a relationship with former Today host, Matt Lauer. Sources are now suggesting that the once-esteemed news anchor still has a positive relationship with Today producer Deborah Kosofsky.

Since Matt’s dismissal from NBC, the 60-year-old has kept a low profile. In fact, he was silent for a period of five months before resurfacing to make a public comment. “I have made no public comments on the many false stories from anonymous or biased sources that have been reported about me over these past several months,” he began.

“I remained silent in an attempt to protect my family from further embarrassment and to restore a small degree of the privacy they have lost,” Matt told The Washington Post in a statement published on Thursday, April 26.

Now, according to Page Six, the father-of-three recently left his hideout in the Hamptons to meet with a longtime friend and former colleague — in a very public setting, no less.

“[Matt and Deborah] were in the middle of the room,” said a source. “They were talking about vacation spots.” Additionally, witnesses told the publication that they overheard the pair talking about a “move to the mountains,” as well as “his kids.”

Thankfully, there have been no reports that the two were discussing NBC business in any way. Though, Deborah’s “support” of Matt does set a complicated precedent for the network in light of the serious allegations against him.
