Congrats!Meg Ryan Confirms She’s Engaged To Longtime Love John Mellencamp
Congratulations are in order for Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp — they’re engaged! The 56-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 8 to confirm the happy news by simply captioning a pen drawing of the two with the word “ENGAGED!”
After Meg revealed her engagement, many of her nearly 400,000 Instagram followers sent their love to the couple in the post’s comments section. “Lucky man to get such a cutie! Congrats Meg!!” one person wrote with another similarly adding, “Congratulations and all the best to you!”
Meg and John, 67, previously sparked engagement and wedding rumors earlier this month when the You’ve Got Mail actress was spotted out and about in NYC on Thursday, Nov. 1 wearing what looked like a new diamond and gold engagement ring on her left ring finger.
The “Jack & Diane” singer and Meg first started dating back in 2011 and were reportedly in a long-distance relationship for many years as she resides in NYC and John splits his time between his homes in Indiana and South Carolina. They sadly separated in 2014 but got back together later that year. Meg and John called it quits again in 2015 but reconciled for the second time in 2017. And now they’re engaged!
Meg’s marriage to John will be her second and this will be the fourth walk down the aisle for the musician. Meg was previously hitched to actor Dennis Quaid — with whom she shares 26-year-old son Jack Quaid — from 1991 until 2001. The actress is also a mom to a 14-year-old daughter, Daisy True Ryan, whom she adopted as a single mom in the mid-2000s.
John was married to Priscilla Esterline from 1970 to 1981, to Victoria Granucci from 1981 until 1989, and to Elaine Irwin from 1992 to 2011. The singer has five children from his three marriages: Michelle Mellencamp, 47, Teddi Mellencamp, 37, Justice Mellencamp, 33, Hed Mellencamp, 24, and Speck Mellencamp, 23.
