Meghan, Harry, Kate, And William Reportedly Left Prince Charles’ 70th Birthday Party Super Early (So Lame!)

Showing up to a party very late or leaving quite early might be fashionable for some people, but for others, it could be seen as very rude. So when Cosmopolitan recently reported that Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William left Prince Charles‘ 70th birthday party on Nov. 14 extremely early, it didn’t look good that the young royals allegedly didn’t stay long at the celebration.

A source recently told The Telegraph, “they went before Prince Philip, which is quite unusual.” Since Philip, 97, is nearly 100 years old, you’d think he’d bail on Charles’ party earlier than two couples in their mid-30s.

“Like most people their age, it seems they are leading very busy lives,” the source noted. It’s possible that pregnant Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, could have been busy preparing for their new royal baby and Kate, 36, and William, also 36, had to tend to their three children. But they really should have stayed at the party longer considering it sounded like quite the fun shindig!

Queen Elizabeth gave the sweetest speech at Charles’ party and talked about how much she adores the person her eldest child has become. “It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday. It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up,” she said, according to the Daily Mail. “Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader — a dedicated and respected hair to the throne to stand comparison with any in history — and a wonderful father.”

She continued, “Most of all, sustained by his wife, [Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall], he is his own man, passionate and creative. So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son.” How sweet!
