Meghan Markle Sports Messy Bun Again, Breaks Royal Protocol

It turns out we actually have something in common with Meghan Markle — we often sport a messy bun like the brunette beauty! The royal-to-be rocked the casual hairdo during a surprise visit to Belfast, Ireland with her fiancé, Prince Harry, on Friday, March 23, and surprise, surprise, she broke royal protocol by doing so.

The royal-to-be paired her side bun with a creme-colored shirt, emerald green skirt, beige coat, and suede orange heels. Honesty, we think her messy tresses were the perfect touch.

This isn’t the first time Meghan wore a messy bun during a royal outing. She sported the casual look during a recent visit to Cardiff Castle in Wales as well as during her first 2018 public appearance with Harry in early January.

There are strict fashion rules in the British royal family (like for example, Kate Middleton must wear a hat to Meghan and Harry’s May wedding), so we’re not sure how Meg pulled this one off. Think about it, have you ever seen Kate or any of the other women in the royal family with such casual tresses?

That said, royal fans are wondering how Meghan is so able to bend the rules Queen Elizabeth has held in place for years and years, and according to People, it’s because the Queen is becoming more and more lenient at age 91. “It’s her age,” shared Ingrid Seward, author of My Husband & I, which is a new biography of Elizabeth and Prince Philip. “She is easier-going. It’s refreshing that [the royal family] is prepared to bend a bit.”

Kate often wears her stunning hair up and has some signature go-to styles like the ponytail and the classic chignon, which may seem a bit more fitting for a royal. However, Kate is most known for her simple blowout, which honestly, we envy every time we see it. That said, we bet Kate and Meghan will chat plenty about hairstyle tips in the coming months, especially ahead of Meghan’s big day. How do you think Meghan will wear her hair? Will she wear a veil?
