Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Attend Wimbledon During Their First Solo Outing Together

Each summer, members of the British monarchy make headlines when they step out to attend Wimbledon — but this year, royal fans were in for an extra special treat when sisters-in-law Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle stepped out to watch a tennis match together for the first time — which also marked their first solo joint outing together.

On Saturday, July 14. Kate, 36, and Meghan, also 36, arrived at the Ladies’ Single Final at Wimbledon, but Kate’s husband Prince William and Meghan’s husband Prince Harry were not at the event. Meghan looked chic and put-together in a blue-and-white striped Ralph Lauren shirt that she paired with cream pants and her signature low messy bun while Kate opted for a white patterned dress, according to People.

Not did this outing mark Meghan’s very first Wimbledon appearance as an official royal family member, but she’ll be cheering on one of her close friends, tennis star Serena Williams, as she plays against Angelique Kerber in the Ladies’ Single Final match.

Before the game, the Duchesses reportedly met with former female tennis champions and chat with ball girls and boys to learn more about the tournament.

Though fans were especially excited about Meghan and Kate’s joint Wimbledon debut, the event won’t be the first time the sisters-in-law have attended a royal event together. Back in December 2017, the former Suits star attended the royal family’s Christmas church service at Queen Elizabeth‘s Sandringham Estate with Kate, William, 36, and Harry, 33.

The fab foursome subsequently stepped out again for the First Annual Royal Foundation Forum in February of this year, at the royal family’s Commonwealth Day service in March, at Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in May, Prince Louis’ royal christening, and, most recently, the RAF centenary celebrations in July.
