Days after Michael Strahan announced he is leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael to instead join the Good Morning America team, a new report has revealed the TV star’s last day on Live! will be Friday, May 13 — a full four months earlier than fans initially expected!

“May 13 is his last show. He’ll take the summer off and GMA can integrate him early before September, and this will give Live! more time to find [a new] co-host. He’s totally fine with that. Now he can enjoy his summer,” a source told [People](https://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,2098190721002592,00.html)_ of Kelly Ripa‘s sidekick on the daytime talk show.
“He was willing to stay until the fall, but the network is saying this gives them more time to find the co-host. He’s a team player. He will do what they ask,” the insider added.
