The Penguin’s Michael Zegen and Broadway’s Jennifer Damiano Are Married: Inside NYC Wedding
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Michael Zegen has tied the knot with Jennifer Damiano to kick off 2025! The couple’s marriage was revealed in a post shared on Instagram by publicist Chelsea Nachman on January 12.
In the photo, Jennifer, 33, wore a traditional white wedding dress, while Michael, 45, wore a suit as they stood embracing each other in front of their guests. A violin player could be seen off to the side, as well as bouquets of flowers and strung up flowers and lights hanging above their heads.
In another snapshot, Jennifer posed with some of her guests, wearing a stunning long-sleeve wedding dress with lace detailing on the sleeves. She couldn’t wipe the smile off her face on her special day.
A rep for the actor also confirmed their marriage to People, sharing more photos of the duo posing during their intimate nuptials. Per the outlet, Michael and Jennifer exchanged vows in a “a small Jewish ceremony,” which took place at Palma restaurant in New York City.
In another picture, they shared a kiss outside of the venue. Jennifer held a gorgeous bouquet in her hand during the PDA moment as Michael placed his hands around her waist.
Michael and Jennifer have kept their relationship pretty low-key over the years, stepping out together in public on rare occasions. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2022 Tony Awards. Prior to that, they starred together in a production of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, an off-Broadway adaptation of the 1969 film of the same name.
The pair also attended the 75th Tony Awards together in 2022. Jennifer performed with the Spring Awakening cast at the ceremony, while Michael’s play Trouble in Mind was nominated for an award that night.
“They were hanging out with each other in the corner of the bar and looked really happy,” an insider told People at the time. “The Spring Awakening cast was all very friendly with Michael.”
The source went on to say that Jennifer and Michael were “inseparable all night.”
He opened up about their relationship in a rare comment in November 2024 during an interview with People.
“[Jennifer] is big on words of affirmation. I think I’m more of a gifts-giving kind of person,” he said of his love language. Michael also mentioned that he was “lucky” to have found Jennifer and not have to deal with dating apps.
The Penguin actor previously revealed his engagement to the Tony nominee during a 2024 interview with People, where he referred to her as his “fiancée.”
Over the years, Michael has shared photos of Jennifer on his Instagram account to wish her a happy birthday or showcase their travels together.
“Some 2024 adventures in Dublin, Copenhagen, DC, Philly, & the Catskills! Psyched to see where 2025 takes us. Bring it!” he captioned a January 1 Instagram post featuring photos of his now-wife.
“I’m sure that 2025 will be a momentous year!” one person commented on the post, as another said, “Thanks for sharing; hope this year brings all good things.”
