Mina Starsiak Hawk and Steve Hawk Have a Sweet Love Story: A Complete Timeline of Their Relationship

2013

Mina and Steve met on Facebook through mutual friends. Eventually, they made plans to meet up but the date didn’t quite go as expected.

“He ignored me all night,” Mina told Country Living in May 2018. “He let his friend hit on me!”

She decided to give Steve another chance and has been forever grateful that she did. But their relationship hit a rough patch very early on.

“They broke up for a while because he behaved really badly — in a phenomenally bad way,” Mina’s mom, Karen E. Laine, revealed. “When they decided to get back together, the only thing I said to him was ‘Don’t ever hurt her again because you’ll have me.'”

2015

After overcoming several challenges faced in their relationship, Steve proposed to Mina at the training field used by the Indianapolis Colts.

2016

The HGTV personality walked down the aisle with the fitness trainer in 2016 at the historic 1899 building in Indianapolis.

2018

Mina and Steve welcomed their first child together, son Jack.

2020

They expanded their family for the second time with the arrival of their daughter, Charlotte.

2023

After announcing that Good Bones would be ending after season 8 amid family drama, Mina and Steve opened up about their decision to stop drinking alcohol.

“I realized that I don’t want to give my children a reason to not have a relationship with me,” Steve said during an episode of his wife’s “Mina AF” podcast in August 2023. “Because I feel like so many people my age and the generation before me have these gap years in their relationship with their parents, or maybe they don’t even have gap years, but they just don’t have relationships or they do, but it revolves around alcohol or just all these negative things surrounding the behavior that comes with alcohol.”

The personal trainer revealed that he has been completely sober for two years and Mina had only a handful of drinks in that time span.

2024

It was announced that Good Bones would be returning with an all-new season documenting the renovation of Steve and Mina’s new lake house. In the August 2024 premiere episode, the couple went to check out the property and did a complete walkthrough of the house to talk about all of the projects they wanted to do. Throughout the episode, they got emotional discussing the losses Steve has faced in his life and how the lake house will be a place of serenity for him. While they did face some minor mishaps during the renovation, ultimately, Mina wanted it to be a “fresh start” for her family.
