Neil Patrick Harris Didn’t Get an Emmys Nomination, but at Least He Thinks It’s Funny

Leave it to Neil Patrick Harris to give us a good laugh!

The Emmys nominations came out on Thursday, July 13, and while some of Hollywood’s biggest stars including Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Viola Davis, Robin Wright, and more made the list, A-list actor Neil was quick to realize he got “snubbed” this year!

He took to Twitter shortly after to make light of the unfortunate situation. “Curse you, @TheEmmys, and all that you stand for! Vengeance…will…be…MINE!!” the 44-year-old captioned a funny pic of himself as his role of Count Olaf in the Netflix adaptation A Series of Unfortunate Events. We’ve never seen anything funnier or more perfect considering.

However, he wasn’t giving up on a possible last minute invite to the award show’s after party. “Um, possible to still get a ticket to the Governor’s Ball?” he added. We’d invite him if we were in charge of the guest list!

In the past, Neil has won four Emmys and has been nominated an additional five times. He was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for How I Met Your Mother every year from 2007 until 2010. He was also nominated for Outstanding Special Class Programs for the Tony Awards in 2012, an award that he previously won in 2010 and again in 2013 and 2014. In 2010, he took home the title of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in Glee.

This isn’t the first time Neil has expressed his passion for A Series of Unfortunate Events. When he found out the show got picked up for a second season in March, he celebrated with a new tattoo!

“We got picked up for Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I got this to celebrate. #FirstTattoo #AnkleBone #Oof #Olaf #ScampStamp @andersonluna @unfortunatetv @netflix,” he captioned a pic of his ankle inked with a mystical eye, which is the symbol of the evil character he portrays in the show. Flash that more for better luck next year, Neil!
