Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s Love Is ~ Unconditional ~: Their Relationship Timeline

January 2016

Katy and Orlando first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. She later opened up about the moment and joked about the Pirates of the Caribbean star stealing one of her In-N-Out burgers.

“I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together,” Katy said during an episode of American Idol. “So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, ‘Hey that’s my burger!’”

May 2016

Instagram official! The couple officially confirmed their romance four months after their In-N-Out incident when Katy shared a funny photo of the two of them lying on the steps of a hotel at the Cannes Film Festival.

February 2017

A little over a year later, Orlando and Katy caused fans to raise their eyebrows when they arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscars party separately. Both of their reps released a statement and confirmed that the two were “taking respectful, loving space at this time,” per People.

February 2018

Their breakup didn’t stick, however, and a year later, the “Teenage Dream” artist and Orlando were spotted on vacation together in February 2018. By the fall of 2018, the two had rekindled their romance.

February 2019

Katy and Orlando seem to have a thing for February! In February 2019, Orlando popped the question with a ring that was perfect for Katy’s outgoing personality. The sparkler was shaped like a flower with diamond petals and a bright pink stone right in the middle.

March 2020

Before Katy could walk down the aisle, the couple announced that they were expecting their first baby together. (Orlando has a son from his previous marriage to model Miranda Kerr.) Katy revealed the big news when she debuted the music video for her song “Never Worn White.” At the end, the Grammy winner could be seen wearing a sheer white dress while cradling her baby bump.

August 2020

On August 27, 2020, Katy and Orlando welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom into their lives. Daisy’s arrival was announced via UNICEF’s Instagram page as both Katy and Orlando are ambassadors for the organization.

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the couple’s statement read in part.

September 2024

Even though the couple has yet to wed as of September 2024, it was clear their love was still going strong when Katy won MTV’s Video Vanguard Award. Orlando had a huge smile on his face as he watched Katy perform for the crowd and the two embraced with a kiss when she finished.
