Pink Credits Couple’s Counseling For Saving Her Marriage With Carey Hart: ‘It’s the Only Reason We’re Still Together’

Their relationship might not be perfect (whose is?), but Pink and husband Carey Hart do everything they can to make it work. The “Get the Party Started” singer recently opened up about their longtime relationship and candidly discussed the reason why their marriage was saved so many years ago.

“Carey and I have been in couples counseling almost our entire 17 years that we’ve been together,” the 39-year-old revealed to Carson Daly in an interview for the Today show, which aired Friday, April 16. In fact, Pink credits these sessions with saving her marriage in 2008 after she and Carey announced they were separating.

Fortunately, the couple — who shares daughter Willow Sage, 7, and son Jameson Moon, 2 — weathered the storm and reconciled a year later.

“It’s the only reason we’re still together,” the “What About Us” songstress candidly admitted. “We come from broken families, and we had no model for: How are we supposed to keep this family together and live this crazy life? And there’s no book that says, ‘Here’s how to do this.’ So we go to counseling, and it works.”

While Pink had no issue opening up about her marriage with her former motorcycle racer beau, she also wasn’t shy when she talked about managing her mental health. “I’m hopeful that the taboo of it is all going away, because more and more people are talking about it,” the mom-of-two told Carson. “I think talking about it is the most important thing and I know that anxiety is like, the No. 1 thing that kids now are going through.”

The blonde beauty — whose new album, Hurts 2B Human, drops on Friday — added that surrounding yourself with the right people is crucial to overcoming anxiety and depression. “For my generation, I feel like it was depression and suicide and suicide is super prevalent still, but now it’s like it comes from a place of anxiety,” she explained. “And I get that, I fully understand that and I’ve been depressed, I have anxiety. I over-think everything. But what I do is I keep the right people around me, and I go to therapy.”

We love you, Pink!
