Prince Charles Allegedly Admits That His Grandchildren ‘Wear Him Out’
It’s not easy being a grandpa-of-three! As Prince Charles gears up to welcome his fourth grandchild this spring, he’s realizing that it’s sometimes difficult to fulfill the role.
“My grandchildren wear me out. I don’t know how you do it,” the 70-year-old told the mother to four-week-old Oliver, Amelia Kerr, 33, at an event with other mothers at the Dorchester Community Church in Poundbury, Dorset, according to Daily Express.
But even though being a grandpa may be tiring, Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, has admitted that he’s quite lovely with her grandchildren from a previous relationship. “He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that,” she shared in the BBC documentary, Prince, Son & Heir: Charles at 70. “He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know, making noises and laughing, and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him.”
Prince William has expressed in the past that he wants his dad to slow down and spend more time with his three kids, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, six months. “I would like him to have more time with the children,” William, 36, said in the documentary. “Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”
And Prince Harry, 34, agreed. He shared in the documentary, “This is a man who has dinner ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes to the point where he’ll wake up with a piece of paper stuck to his face. The man never stops. When we were kids, there were bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him. We could barely even get to his desk to say goodnight to him.”
Here’s hoping Charles gets plenty of rest before Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby arrives!
