George And Charlotte Don’t Call Duchess Camilla ‘Grandma’ — Find Out Her Cute Nickname!
It seems everyone in the British royal family has a special nickname — and Duchess Camilla is no exception! Good Housekeeping recently revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte don’t call Prince Charles‘ 71-year-old wife “Grandma” and instead have a different moniker for their step-grandmother.
Though she didn’t mention George, 5, and Charlotte, 3, specifically, Camilla did once tell the Daily Mail that her grandchildren — she has five! — affectionately call her “GaGa.” How cute is that?!
“My own grandchildren call me GaGa. I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet,” Camilla confessed back in 2013.
In addition to George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Camilla is a grandmother to five grandkids: Eliza Lopes, Louis Lopes, Gus Lopes, Lola Parker Bowles, and Freddy Parker Bowles.
While appearing in the past documentary The Real Camilla: HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla candidly opened up about being a grandparent and confessed the experience is “wonderful.”
“Yes, I’d recommend it to everybody. It’s very nice because you haven’t got the full responsibility. You can give them a wonderful time, spoil them, give them all the things their parents won’t allow them to have and then give them back again,” she said. Camilla also joked that her youngest grandchildren enjoy find it funny to sometimes see her on TV. “They rather tend to wave, I don’t know if they expect me to wave back again,” she shared.
In The Real Camilla documentary, Charles, 69, also gushed about his “darling wife” and her sweet personality. “She does have a wonderful way with people, you see, that’s the special thing. I mean, she’s remarkable, really. She is the best listener in the world, you see, so she can get anything out of anybody and find out their life history in a very quick, short time,” he said at the time.
