Prince Harry Wants to ‘Build a House in a Secluded Area’ of Africa for Duchess Meghan and Baby Archie
Forget about Frogmore Cottage! Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are thinking about permanently moving to Africa and making that their home. Their royal trip to the continent went so well that they are seriously considering living there with their baby boy, Archie.
“Harry wants to build a house in a secluded area so that Archie can grow up being surrounded by nature. And he wants to teach him to horse ride too,” an insider recently shared to Us Weekly about the couple’s future plans.
Apparently, Harry and Meghan think Africa would be a great place to live because they’re hoping to get away from all of the negative backlash they’ve been receiving from the British press.
“After a miserable year in London, Harry and Meghan want to make Africa their home,” the insider said. “The critics have made their lives ‘absolute hell’ and they’d get more privacy in Africa — they won’t be hounded by photographers around the clock.”
Ever since Harry and Meghan got together, its been so hard for them to live in the public eye. Meghan actually revealed how difficult it was for her when she spoke about her life as a royal in the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
“Especially as a woman it’s really — it’s a lot,” she confessed to ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom and trying to be a newlywed. … And also thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
As for Harry and Meghan’s move to Africa, the Duke of Sussex admits he has thought about it before, but he doesn’t know if he’ll go through with it anytime soon.
“I don’t know where we could live in Africa at the moment, we’ve just come from Cape Town,” he said. “That would be an amazing place to be able to base ourselves. But with all the problems going on there … I don’t see how we’d be able to make as big a difference as we want to.”
To be honest, we don’t care where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex live. As long as they’re happy, that’s the only thing that matters!
