Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Won’t Be Able To Attend Prince Charles’ 70th Birthday Celebrations

They can’t do it all! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a busy fall schedule coming up, and unfortunately, Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebration isn’t on it.

The future King of England will ring in the milestone birthday on Nov. 14, however, there will be a concert and dinner at Buckingham Palace on Oct. 25 to celebrate. However, Harry and Meg unfortunately won’t be able to attend because they’ll be on their highly-anticipated Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga tour during the last two weeks of next month.

While Charles’ birthday is certainly important, don’t forget that just days after Harry and Meghan’s May 19 wedding, the two stepped out for their first appearance as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a garden party for Charles’ birthday at Buckingham Palace. It was reported that they even postponed their honeymoon for it!

We know what you’re thinking: if his birthday is in November, why are they celebrating it in May and October? According to Metro, to the palace decided to hold various celebrations for him throughout the year, starting as early as six months in advance. The garden party was meant to honor Charles’ charity work, patronages, and military affiliations.

We doubt Charles will be mad at the couple for not being able to attend, though — especially because Meghan has brought him closer to his youngest son. “The wedding was a real turning point. Charles showed so much love towards Harry and Meghan, and I think Harry will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in and giving Meghan’s hand in marriage. The bond between them is very close,” royal reported Katie Nicholl shared via Vanity Fair

She added, “[He] has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father. He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry.”

Perhaps because the former Suits actress’ first priority was allegedly “winning over her future father-in-law.” A  royal source once revealed, “At first Harry couldn’t believe she was going to so much effort, but the more time they spent with Charles, the more Harry realized he must bury the hatchet. Harry was very touched by how welcoming Charles was to Meghan who, though confident, must have found adapting to royal life hugely intimidating. Charles played a huge part in making her feel at home.” Hopefully they all celebrate together on Nov. 14!
