Prince Harry Reportedly Feels ‘Imprisoned’ Living At Kensington Palace

It’s a good thing he’s moving! It was previously revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are soon moving from Kensington Palace — and it appears there may be a good reason why.

“Harry feels very imprisoned at Kensington Palace,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward, author of My Husband and I, recently told People. “He can’t wait to get out.” Ouch!

The couple is expecting their first child together in the spring, so they plan to build their family home at Frogmore Cottage rather than Kensington Palace. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child. The couple have lived at Nottingham Cottage since their engagement last year,” an official spokesperson for the royal pair previously told People in a statement.

However, another source also recently told the Daily Mail that the relocation is “because [Harry] wants to escape the goldfish bowl of royal life for the sake of his marriage and his unborn child.” At Frogmore, they will have more privacy than they do at Kensington Palace. “The other reason [for the move] is that Harry simply doesn’t want to bring his family up in such a visible manner as his brother,” Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English explained. “While many would be delighted at the idea of living in a palace, large swathes of it are actually open to the public all year round.”

It’s also been reported by The Sun that Meg, 37, and Harry, 34, are moving because of a rift with  Prince William and Kate Middleton, who currently live at Kensington Palace with their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. “The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments. But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers. Now Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate and want to strike out on their own.”

Here’s hoping Harry and Meghan find the peace and quiet they are looking more at Frogmore!
