REPORTFind Out Why Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie Weren’t at Princess Charlotte’s Christening

This time last week, royal fans were convinced that Prince William’s cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie would be awarded the honor of being Princess Charlotte’s godmothers. But, not only was neither sister bestowed with the task — they weren’t even invited to the christening!

According to Australia’s Woman’s Day magazine, the surprise move appears to confirm long-held suspicions that Kate Middleton, 33, doesn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with her cousins-in-law, who have long resented the Duchess of Cambridge ever since she married into the family.

Their jealousy flared further when it was revealed that Prince Charles planned to “trim down” the core royals, leaving Kate, William, also 33, and Prince Harry, 30, to represent the British monarchy at public appearances while Beatrice, 26, and Eugenie, 25, embark on non-regal careers for themselves.

Additionally, the magazine previously reported Beatrice once sarcastically referred to Kate as “the Chosen One,” and told friends that while she and her sister are the only “blood princesses,” Kate “gets the glamour jobs, the clothing allowance, the limos and the bodyguards, while I have to travel economy.”

The sisters — whose parents are Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York — also reportedly openly refer to Kate and her sister, Pippa Middleton, 31, as “commoners” who are “vacuous and pushy,” sources revealed.

The last time Kate and Beatrice were seen alone and in direct conversation with each other was at Christmas time on the Sandringham Estate in 2011. Since then, they’ve only been photographed in group situations and never addressing each other directly.
