Queen Elizabeth, 92, Cancels Royal Appearance Because She’s Feeling “Under the Weather”

Get well soon, Queen Elizabeth. The British monarch canceled a special church service she was expected to attend on Thursday, June 28 because she’s feeling sick, Buckingham Palace revealed in a statement.

“The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St Michael and St George,” a place spokeswoman said of the 92-year-old. “Her Majesty will be represented by [her cousin] The Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order.”

A source noted to People, however, that royal fans should not worry since Her Majesty did not call a doctor yet. Later today, she’s also scheduled to visit Windsor Castle. Perhaps she’s just feeling run-down from her past few days out and about with her husband, Prince Philip, and grandson Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle?

Unlike Prince Philip, who officially retired last year, Elizabeth is still a very busy woman. Throughout the year she partakes in a lot of royal engagements including parties, public appearances, diplomatic trips, award ceremonies, and more. She’s also the patron of more than 600 organizations.

However, an insider previously revealed to Closer Weekly that the Queen will soon step down from the throne to relax with her husband and pass the title to her eldest son, Prince Charles. “She has a sense of duty and originally planned to see it through to the end,” a senior courtier told Closer, “but she has broken all the records and has nothing left to prove.” First and foremost, we just hope the Queen gets better in time for her great-grandson Prince Louis’ christening on July 9!
