Richard Gere Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Adult Son Homer and Wife Alejandra: Photos

Homer towered over his father and stepmother as they posed on the red carpet. Richard and Homer’s mom, Carey Lowell, are both 5-foot-10, so he clearly inherited their height.

All Together

While Richard and Alejandra looked lost in each other’s eyes, Homer struck a proud pose.

“I always love being with my son,” the Runaway Bride star told People on the red carpet about his eldest child. “If we’re out in the woods walking, if we’re here doing something good for other people, I’m always happy to see him.”

Back to the States

Richard and Alejandra sold their Connecticut home in 2024 and moved to Madrid, Spain.

“My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, and so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid,” Richard told host Jimmy Fallon during a November 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show. “Our kids are bilingual, so they’re going to flourish there.”

Richard and Alejandra welcomed son Alexander in 2019, followed by James’ birth in April 2020.

Homer shared a laugh with celebrity chef Eric Ripert while inside the event.

While he inherited his parents’ good looks, Homer hadn’t followed them into show business … yet. He graduated from Brown University in 2024 with a degree in psychology and also worked as a research assistant at the Ivy League college’s School of Public Health.

“As it happens, he just started acting too. He has suddenly become interested and seems to enjoy it,” Richard revealed to People about Homer while attending the City Harvest gala. “He’s been writing and directing little movies, so we have this new thing in common.”

Alejandra donned a stylish wrap while inside the event as she and Richard were seated at their table.

“My wife, she grew up in a very big Spanish family, like a big Italian family,” Richard explained during his Tonight Show appearance, adding that Alejandra’s grandmother was the “glue that held that all together,” but she had passed away several years ago.

“So, my wife, I can see her morphing into the new grandmother of this extended family. She’s already planning for, you know, 35 people for Sunday lunches,” the Maybe I Do star gushed about the life ahead of them in Madrid with her family.
