Richard Gere Urging Julia Roberts to ‘Be More Zen’ to Keep Romance With Danny Moder Alive
Richard Gere is still madly in love with wife Alejandra Silva, so he’s giving advice to good friend Julia Roberts to put more romance in her marriage to Danny Moder, a source exclusively tells Closer.
“Richard has found his true love and happiness with Alejandra by using a few simple tools, and he can’t resist sharing them with his married friends, especially Julia,” the source says.
The 75-year-old actor married the Spanish activist, 41, in April 2018, and since then the couple welcomed two sons.
In August, Alejandra celebrated her husband’s birthday with a sweet Instagram post, writing, “After 11 amazing years together, it still feels like the day we first met. The journey we’ve shared, the beautiful family we’ve built, and the memories we’ve created are more than I could have ever dreamed of. You make my life better in every way, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side. Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, and happiness together.”
As for Richard’s Pretty Woman costar, 56, “It’s no secret Julia and Danny have had their ups and downs,” the Closer source shares. “Their relationship has been put to the test so many times.”
Julia and Danny, 55, “might seem content at the moment,” the insider adds, “but Richard wants to ensure it stays that way. He’s urging Julia to be more Zen — to slow down and pause each day for a few minutes to just breathe — because if she follows this foundation, she will find peace and relaxation, and she won’t be stressed out.”
As a result, “neither will Danny,” the source points out. “Also, he reminds her to embrace Danny every opportunity she gets, like he does with Alejandra. It keeps the romance alive, and sparks are what every couple needs for survival.”
In July, a separate source told Closer that Julia and Danny are working frantically behind the scenes to pull things between them back together.
“Divorce is not something either of them wants, and they do love each other dearly, but if they’re barely together, it’s not exactly a recipe for a successful relationship,” the source said.
However, Julia’s deep focus on her Hollywood aspirations could have an effect on her marriage to Danny. “It does really bother Danny that he’s seen as Mr. Julia Roberts and also that she’s been doing her own thing for so long, so she’s vowed to make a big effort to support him when he goes on location for work, even if it means she’s got to just do her own thing at whatever hotel or rental house they get while he’s on set for hours at a time,” the source added.
The goal is to start making their marriage a priority again, said the insider, adding, “Danny and Julia have realized they need to reinvigorate their relationship and reconnect on a different level.”
Also in July, the actress and the cinematographer appeared together at Wimbledon in London.
“Time together is a big priority again,” said the insider. “They want to take more romantic trips together, and Wimbledon was a really great start.”
