Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne Welcome Baby Girl No. 2: ‘So Grateful She Made It Safe and Sound’

It’s another girl! Former WWE champion Ronda Rousey announced that she gave birth to her second child with husband Travis Browne.

“Our little girl came into this world during a windstorm into a city on fire, so grateful she made it safe and sound,” Ronda, 37, wrote alongside a carousel of video clips and photos shared via Instagram on Thursday, January 9.

The couple named their little one Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne, a name that honors Travis’ Hawaiian heritage as he was born Travis Kuualiialoha Browne. Ronda and Travis, 42, are also parents to daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo Browne, who was born in September 2021.

In the video, Ronda held the newborn in her arms while La’akea, 3, peered over at her new baby sister. The former MMA fighter was looking healthy and happy as she sat in the hospital bed wearing a green hoodie and dark lounge pants. Ronda had her hair pulled away from her face in a messy bun while wearing her glasses. La’akea seemed fascinated with her new sibling and insisted Ronda pull back Liko’ula’s swaddling so she could get a closer look.

Ronda and Travis’ road to parenthood hasn’t been an easy one and the new mom of two opened up about her previous pregnancy losses during an April 2024 episode of “The Diary of a CEO” podcast. She had previously talked about her miscarriages in her book Our Fight and revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage a day after she filmed scenes for an episode of the TV show 9-1-1. Podcast host Steven Bartlett asked her about the experience after explaining he and his partner were trying for a child at that time.

“I found out I was pregnant just before the show started filming,” Ronda began. “Then my finger got chopped off from a door falling on it, but, you know, we went and got it checked out and the baby seemed just fine, but then I miscarried a couple weeks later.”

The California native admitted that she felt like the miscarriage was “her fault” because she “wanted to keep doing dangerous stuff while [she] was pregnant.” After she lost the baby, Ronda said she was “depressed” and “started drinking and smoking and not taking care of herself.” However, during that time she got pregnant again.

“We never even saw the heartbeat that time,” Ronda continued, “but I wasn’t expecting anything more because I just wasn’t taking care of myself.”

After the second loss, Ronda and Travis turned to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and she completed four rounds. The doctors retrieved eight embryos because the couple “wanted to have three or four kids.” Ronda explained that the “first one” was a success and that’s how they came to welcome their daughter La’akea. Unfortunately, shortly before she appeared on Steven’s podcast, Ronda revealed that she and Travis had undergone IVF to try for another baby, but “the first cycle didn’t work.”

“It’s tough for anyone going through it,” Ronda said through tears. “It’s tough, and people just don’t talk about it. It’s hard because you have so much hope every time.”
