Roseanne Barr Opens Up About Moving To Israel Once ‘The Conners’ Premieres

It’s time for a change! Roseanne Barr has had a rough couple of months following the abrupt cancellation of her eponymous show, Roseanne, after her racist tweet, and now, the actress is thinking about moving to Israel. The ironic part? She’s speaking out about a potential relocation just one month before the Roseanne spin-off, The Conners, premieres without her.

During a recent sit-down with the Rabbi Shmuley Boteach Podcast, Roseanne opened up about how she could be leaving the US very soon. “I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers,” she said. “I have saved a few pennies and I’m so lucky I can go. It’s my great joy and privilege to be a Jewish woman.”

It’s unclear at this time if Roseanne will actually move, but we wouldn’t be surprised since she’s been under fire recently for calling one of Barack Obama’s former aides, Valerie Jarrett, an ape on Twitter. However, she’s apologized for her hurtful words time and time again — and she even approved the spin-off, which airs on ABC on Oct. 16.

“I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved,” she released in a statement at the time.

She also shared in the podcast, “I’m not going to curse it or bless it. I’m staying neutral. That’s what I do. I’m staying neutral. I’m staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone, and I don’t wish good for my enemies. I don’t. I can’t. I just stay neutral. That’s what I gotta do. I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle or I’ll go dark, and I don’t want to go dark again. I’ve done it. After all, I was married to Tom Arnold.”
