Rosie O’Donnell Is a Loving Mom of 5 Kids! Meet the TV Star’s Children and 4 Grandchildren

Parker Jaren O’Donnell

Adopted in May 1995, Parker is Rosie and Kelli’s first child together. In 2011, Rosie revealed Parker had finally convinced her to let him go to military school.

“He chose on his own. He actually begged to go to a military academy. And I was like two years of ‘No way,'” Rosie once explained to Access Hollywood. “Truth is, since he was a little boy, that’s his area of interest. The same way I love [Barbra] Streisand and Bette Midler, and entertainment, he can tell you any general in any war, what kind of tanks they had, what the battles were like. So I finally gave in and truthfully, he’s excelling and he’s very happy.”

Considering Rosie supported her son’s choice, Parker is currently in the Marines.

Chelsea Belle O’Donnell

Rosie and Chelsea — who was adopted in September 1997 — have had some ups and downs in their relationship. Back in 2015, Chelsea ran away from home, but was thankfully found safe and sound a week later. However, she blamed Rosie for kicking her out of the house.

Fortunately, Rosie and her daughter patched things up after Chelsea divorced her then-husband Nick Alliegro. Around the same time, she learned she was expecting with her new boyfriend. Upon learning of Chelsea’s pregnancy, Rosie told People, “Yes, she is pregnant. We have reconnected.”

In February 2022, Rosie announced that Chelsea welcomed her third daughter with boyfriend Jacob Bourassa. The couple are also parents to daughters Skylar and Riley. The comedian shared the exciting news about becoming a grandmother again in a TikTok video.

“The baby’s name is Avery Lynn,” Rosie revealed. “And Chelsea and Jake and Skylar and Riley and baby Avery are all doing fine. Just call me ‘Nana 3’ — three grandkids. I’m a nana. I love it.”

In October 2023, Rosie announced that she was officially a grandmother of four after Chelsea welcomed her first son, Atlas.

Blake Christopher O’Donnell

Blake, who is the third child Rosie adopted with Kelli in December 1999, currently attends Marist College in New York. Aside from making outings with his mom at red carpet events and being in rare photos on her social media, he’s now a doting husband to wife Teresa Garofalow Westervelt. The pair got married in August 2024. Rosie revealed the news in an Instagram post, sharing a photo from Blake and Teresa’s first dance at their wedding. Rosie also shared other photos from the special day, including a snapshot of her dancing with her son.

Vivienne Rose O’Donnell

Vivienne — the fourth and final child adopted by Rosie and Kelli in — was born via artificial insemination in 2002. It seems Vivienne may follow in her mom’s Hollywood footsteps as she loves performing.

The mother-daughter duo often share videos of them dancing together on Rosie’s Instagram page. In March 2020, the TV producer uploaded the most hilarious TikTok video with her little girl.

“Bonding with Vivi,” Rosie captioned the epic clip of them perfecting a dance routine to “Becky” by Championxiii.

Vivienne served as a bridesmaid at Blake and Teresa’s wedding, Rosie revealed.

Dakota “Dax” O’Donnell

Rosie and second wife Michelle adopted Dakota together before Michelle died and she is the only child that Rosie and Michelle welcomed while married. Considering Dakota is still just a youngster, Rosie loves spending time with her by enjoying fun activities.

In January 2020, Rosie paid tribute to her youngest child as she celebrated daughter Dakota’s birthday. “Happy birthday to my little unicorn!! #love #family,” the Find Me author captioned her post.

Skylar Rose

Rosie’s first granddaughter was born in December 2018 to Chelsea. At the time, the host gushed over the exciting milestone on social media. “Skylar and Nana,” she wrote alongside a photo at the hospital.

Rosie also marveled over the moment she became a grandma during an appearance on Today in January 2019. “It was really trippy, I have to say,” the actress recalled. “She called me from Wisconsin — Chels, my daughter, lives there with her partner Jake — and she called and said, ‘I’m in labor,’ and I got on a plane and I missed the birth by, like, an hour. But she’s happy.”

Skylar is still just a youngster, but Rosie loves sharing photos of their fun adventures on social media. “My grandchild, Sky … looking just like her mama, Chelsea,” she gushed via Instagram in November 2020.

Riley

It’s not exactly known when Chelsea welcomed her second daughter, Riley. However, it’s clear that Rosie has an unbreakable bond with the little one. Her Instagram is flooded with adorable photos of her second grandchild.

Avery Lynn

Little Avery arrived in February 2022. The proud grandma shared the exciting news with her followers on social media.

Atlas

Rosie announced on social media that Atlas was born to Chelsea in October 2023.
