Sandra Bullock Donates $1 Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts, Proves She’s a Perfect Human


Could Sandra Bullock be any more perfect? The 53-year-old actress donated a whopping $1 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas earlier this week, the Red Cross confirmed on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Sandra has been a longtime supporter of the American Red Cross and herself has a home in the Lone Star State.

Hurricane Harvey previously hit Rockport, TX on Friday, Aug. 25. Since then, there have sadly been 30 confirmed deaths from the storm and catastrophic, inland flooding is still affecting the Houston area. Preliminary estimates predict between $40 and $50 million in damages have already occurred because of the storm. This interestingly isn’t the first time Sandra has donated a significant amount of money to charity in recent years. In fact, the Oscar winner and mom-of-two has given an impressive $5 million to the American Red Cross since 2001, according to E! News.

Sandra — who has an estimated net worth of $200 million — previously donated $1 million to the relief organization following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, another $ 1 million after the devastating, 2004 tsunami in Indonesia, and $1 million in the wake of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.
