Sandra Bullock ‘Working Through Her Grief’ With Jennifer Aniston by ‘Spending Days’ at Luxury Spas

Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock go way back and are still joined at the hip these days, as a source exclusively tells Closer the two actresses are keeping themselves busy cohosting dinner parties and enjoying the most lavish beauty and wellness pampering sprees money can buy.

“Sandra’s been on a big self-care kick the last couple of years,” the insider says, explaining her recent obsession with wellness is “something that’s really helped her as she works through her grief over Bryan’s death.”

The Gravity star, 60, tragically lost her partner of eight years, model-turned-photographer Bryan Randall, in August 2023 after a private, three-year battle with ALS. The news shocked many, as the Academy Award-winning actress kept the ultimately terminal diagnosis under tight wraps for years.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request,” family members told People.

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” they added. “At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

Sandra stepped away from the spotlight afterwards, allowing her time to grieve as the family had stated. During the process she found the Friends alum, 56, a comforting presence and someone who has been all about healing and wellness for years.

“Jen’s on the same page, there’s nothing she loves more than a good spa getaway,” the source adds. The term “spa getaway” may be underselling it. “They love to create these little retreats, either with just the two of them, or with a group of their close friends, where they rent out a villa at an exclusive spa somewhere in the world and spend a good number of days totally destressing,” the insider explains.

“They go for massages and facials and detox wraps, all sorts of treatments like that.”

While their outings are certainly luxurious, at the end of the day both actresses have been industry staples for decades, racking up awards and accolades and stacking cash producing and starring in hit after hit. Their friendship goes way back, having first connected via mutual ex Tate Donovan. “We were introduced by our former boyfriend. I say ‘our’ because you and I both partook of this one human being,” Sandra joked during a conversation alongside The Break-up star for Interview Magazine in 2020.

They became fast friends and have remained close ever since. Jen even recently gave her social media followers an update about her “life lately,” which included a photo dump with Sandra prominently featured in many of the pictures.

“It’s always in the lap of luxury of course, the kind of places most people could never afford,” the source adds. “They’ve been known to drop several hundred grand on one of these trips, but for them it’s more than worth it.”

It’s not just self-indulgence, though. The end goal is moving on from their past tragedies. “They eat good clean food, take walks in nature, it’s all about relaxing and resetting.”
