Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram on Saturday, April 9 to wish her former Sex and the City costar Cynthia Nixon a happy 50th birthday — and her kind words about the actress will melt your heart!

"Happy Birthday, my beloved colleague and friend, Cynthia Nixon. You are the same brilliant, inspiring and loyal friend I met all the way back in '78," Sarah Jessica wrote alongside the throwback black and white photo of Cynthia. "Have a wonderful birthday. Sending love today and always. Your, SJ xxx."

After meeting in the late-1970s, the duo costarred in the 1982 ABC TV movie My Body, My Child. Sarah Jessica, 51, and Cynthia later played Carrie and Miranda, respectively, on SATC, which ran from 1998 until 2004.

In addition to SATC, Cynthia is famous for her roles in films Amadeus, The Pelican Brief, 5 Flights Up, and Stockholm, Pennsylvania. The mom-of-three has also starred on Broadway in The Philadelphia Story and Rabbit Hole.

Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones)

In addition to playing Samantha on SATC, the actress is known for starring in several stage productions including Private Lives, Antony & Cleopatra, and Sweet Bird of Youth.

Before SATC, Kristin starred on the hit 90s show, Melrose Place. Kristin has also appeared in movies including Deck the Halls and Couples Retreat.

Chris is most recognized for his roles as Det. Mike Logan on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent and as "Mr. Big" on SATC.

Kyle is most known for his roles on TV shows Twin Peaks, SATC, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Portlandia, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Mikhail is known for being one of the greatest ballet dancers in history. In addition to appearing on SATC, his acting credits include the 1977 film The Turning Point, for which he received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

The actor has appeared in more than 50 movies and on several TV shows. He is now appearing on the USA series White Collar.
