Ever since revealing she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), Selma Blair has been quite open about the disease, inspiring others to do the same. And while the actress needs a cane sometimes, it hasn’t stopped her from enjoying her life.

The 46-year-old was spotted recently out and about in Los Angles. Selma rocked an elegant white shirtdress, paired with a green wicker bag. The Legally Blonde costar enjoyed some coffee and cake as she took a stroll.

This public outing comes after Selma’s best friend, Sarah Michelle Gellar, told Entertainment Tonight, “She’s amazing. She’s Selma. Her sense of humor is intact. Maybe her body is not where she’d like it to be at this very moment but it’s not gonna stop here from doing anything.”

“This girl just does the school run every morning and [is] out there at birthday parties and is not letting an illness stop her from accomplishing everything and anything,” she added.

Selma has not only received support from fans after her MS reveal, but celebrities have also reached out to her — Jack Osbourne, who also has the disease, bonded with the actress recently.

“I get a lot out of talking to people in kind of the same spot as me,” the 33-year-old told People of his conversation with the Cruel Intentions costar. “I find it kind of comforting knowing you’re not alone. That was really the crux of the conversation I had with Selma.”

“He got in touch with me and we had a conversation,” Selma once said on Good Morning America of Michael J. Fox himself reaching out to her. She added, “Really he gives me hope. Plus I was like, ‘I have Michael J. Fox’s email now, I’m pretty cool.’”

Having MS has of course brought some issues for Selma. “I am trying to remember to breathe. I can’t believe people do this easily,” she wrote in the caption of her post on April 8. “I hold my breath accidentally for oodles of time. That is problematic.”

Selma said this after she shared that her friend and actress Jaime King sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers. “This is a huge act of love to do for someone who is housebound, people. Major. Heartbreakingly touching,” she said. “I hide in them and breathe.”

The entire world saw Selma tackle her disease when she attended the Oscars after-party in February looking beautiful while carrying a custom cane.
