Sherri Shepherd Flaunts Impressive 25-Pound Weight Loss After Cutting Sugar From Her Diet
Lookin’ good! Sherri Shepherd took to Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 1 to flaunt her gorgeous new figure after shedding an impressive 25 pounds during a recent weight loss journey that required her to cut sugar from her diet.
“Getting it in!!! Over 260 days #sugarfree… can’t begin to describe how #amazing I feel. Energy, clarity of thought and mind. Focused… patient [with] my son. Hearing from God a lot more clearly. Present,” she captioned the pic of herself. “I’ve done this slowly and steadily and since March. I’ve come down over 25 [pounds]. This is not a fad — it’s my life that is at stake. It feels so good to feel #good.”
During a previous appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Sherri, 51, credited her son, Jeffrey Tarpley, 14, for being the push she needed to start her fitness journey. She recalled a time when Jeffrey was sitting in the back seat of her car and was scared for his mother’s health.
“Sometimes you go through stuff and you want to just grab something sweet,” Sherri explained on the show. “Ex-husbands, things like that. And I was doing that and Jeffrey was in the backseat, Wendy, and I was eating something I wasn’t supposed to. He said, ‘Mommy, if you die, who’s going to be my bodyguard?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘Who’s going to watch me?’ And literally, I said, ‘Sherri, you’ve got to do something different.’”
A few years ago, Sherri went through a hard time when she divorced her first husband, Jeff Tarpley, in 2010 and subsequently had a stressful custody battle over their son, Jeffrey. When Sherri later won the custody battle, she took to Twitter to express her joy. “God is good. VICTORY!!! The prayers of the righteous availeth much!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers! #tearfulmama,” she wrote at the time. It’s so nice that Sherri got fit for her son — and she looks amazing!
