Steve Harvey Has ‘Drastically Slimmed Down’ and Is ‘Down to 200 Lbs’: He’s ‘Invigorated’
Steve Harvey is looking better than ever — and sources exclusively tell Closer that a healthy diet and portion control are to thank for his recent weight loss.
“He’s drastically slimmed down and lost an estimated 30 pounds in a relatively short amount of time,” says an insider. “He’s down to about 200 pounds but insists he’s doing it in a healthy way by eating real, nutritious food and weighing out the portions so he doesn’t overdo it, cutting out the salt and junk and exercising regularly.”
The Family Feud host, 67, had fans worried over the summer after his wife, Marjorie Elaine Harvey, shared a video that showed them walking hand-in-hand on the beach.
Steve, who was wearing a bathing suit, white t-shirt and a bucket hat, was smoking a cigar as he appeared to waddle down to the water.
“You can clearly see who’s aging faster … hit the gym, bro,” one person wrote in the comments section of the post, while another said, “Our baby steve is tired vacation is needed.”
It seems as though he took that advice to heart.
According to Closer‘s source, Steve isn’t doing any more “liquid diets” nor “fad diets,” and he is no longer “lazing around.”
The insider adds, “Steve’s all about staying physically fit. He realizes he’s not out of the woods, but he’s determined to stay on track with this. He’s more invigorated, and the romantic stakes have benefitted, too.”
Earlier this month, Steve and Marjorie looked more in love than ever as they celebrated her 60th birthday.
Steve looked super slim in an all-black suit that he accessorized with his signature sunglasses while Marjorie stunned in a billowing white top over a cream-colored gown. In the clip, the happy couple smiled for the camera and shared a sweet kiss.
“They both look so slim and good, wow,” one fan wrote in the comments section, while another said, “This one is superb you both look slimmed and just fit. Keep it going your both spectacular.”
Earlier this year, on June 25, Steve and Marjorie celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. “Happy 17th Anniversary My Love,” she captioned a carousel of images on Instagram of the couple on their tropical getaway.
Other photos on her Instagram show the blended family enjoying their summer vacation as they soaked up the sun on a boat. “More pictures from our Anniversary trip. Blessings upon blessings,” Marjorie wrote. “These three children manage to show up at some point on every Anniversary trip and turn it into a family/ anniversary trip.”
For his part, Steve also shared a sweet photo to Instagram of him looking into Marjorie’s eyes in celebration of their anniversary, writing in the caption, “I love you @marjorie_harvey.”
Prior to his relationship with Marjorie, Steve was married to first wife Marcia Harvey from 1981 to 1994 and to second wife Mary Shackelford from 1996 to 2005.
“Marjorie changed the way I existed,” the TV personality told People in 2012. “I’d never been in a healthy adult relationship. I’d never been loyal, I’d never been fully respected.”
