1973

Early on, Susan had dreams of becoming a Hollywood star and it seemed like landing a role on The Brady Bunch was the vehicle that could take her there.

“I had wanted to be a regular character on a series for a while,” she said. “The Brady Bunch was an answer to a prayer.”

Teen Years

After the show ended, Susan’s career plateaued. She appeared mostly in Brady-related spin-offs and reunion events, but grew increasingly dissatisfied with being seen as only a Brady.
“I never thought of myself as a Brady. I never actually wanted to be a Brady. I always preferred my own family to the Bradys,” she said.

Early Adulthood

After graduating high school, Susan had mostly abandoned her dream of becoming an actress, saying, “If you were a kid actor, if you had any plans of being an actor as an adult, you were really barking up the wrong tree.”

March 2003

Susan made an appearance at the TV Land awards.

October 2003

The former child star would pivot toward radio and talk show appearances later in her life, saying, “I’m not really an actress type. I’m an entertainer.”

April 2007

Susan and son Michael attended the 5th Annual TV Land Awards. Michael was born in 1997 and diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.

June 2016

Susan became the host of her own radio talk show, “Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics,” on LA Talk Radio. 

“I would always prefer radio or working behind the scenes where I don’t have to be seen. I don’t like how appearance oriented T.V. is (especially now that I’m middle aged!)” she said.

December 2018

The child star was let go from her radio show after a public feud with openly-gay actor Leon Acord-Whiting, who accused Susan of repeatedly calling him slurs. 

However, she would go on to tell Fox News in 2019 that she had “been the subject of fake news” and “never got fired.”

September 2019

Susan reunited with her surviving castmates from The Brady Bunch for an HGTV special, A Very Brady Renovation.

December 2023

Susan’s latest project, Blending Christmas, saw her acting alongside her Brady Bunch costars Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, Barry Williams, and Robbie Rist once again. 

She hasn’t appeared in any other productions since 2021 and currently teaches acting and short filmmaking for children at Vibe Performing Arts in Santa Clarita, California.
